Reasons_ behind_ the _difficulty_ to_ achieve_ real_ digital _transformation.Digital business is a very challenging task to achieve and sustain as it demands innovative thinking every day, a willingness to evolve in thinking and perceiving a bold approach towards the market. As the market pioneers continue to embrace a digitally transformed agenda, they find that the transition requires subsequent changes in the organisational culture and internal systems.

A recent survey by Gartner states that a very little number of organisations were able to successfully scale their digital initiatives beyond the experimentation and piloting stages and this field requires a lot of risk input.
The reality of the digital business is that it demands different skills says Marcus Blosch, research vice president at Gartner. He continues that change in an organisation is to be designed in a structured, process-oriented manner pertaining to ecosystems, adaptation, learning and experimentation which is hard to achieve. Gartner has listed six barriers that CIOs must overcome to transform their organisation outlook in the digital business. They are as follows.

1. Persisting of change-resisting culture: Digital innovation can be successful only in a culture helping in collaboration. People should be made comfortable to work across boundaries and exploring new ideas and thought processes.
2. Limited sharing and collaboration among the teams: The lack of collaboration and willingness to share views is a challenge inside the organisation.
3. The business is not made ready: Many business leaders get caught up in the hype around the digital business that their CIO or CDO want to start the transformation process, turns out and the business doesn’t show forward-thinking talent skills to succeed further.
4. The talent gap: People, processes and technology should blend to create new business models to work further.
5. Lack of support to talent in the Current scenario: the right talent is essential to achieve the right work effectively.
