OPPO: The Emerging Smartphone Brand

OPPOOPPO an electronics company in China known to few, but this small company is growing fast in the global smartphone market. Comparing last year the company has grown 137% in the Q3 of this year and finished 4th in the race with Samsung leading, followed by Apple and Huawei.

 

According to IDC OPPO grabbed 6.6% of the market with a shipping count of 22.6 million which is well behind 77 million and 40 million for Samsung and Apple respectively. As OPPO’s smartphones offer high-end features at low price bracket. This way the company might exert pressure on more popular brands like Apple and Samsung. OPPO doesn’t sell directly in the US but the F1 is available online for $434.

 

The company has recently benefited from India and South-East Asia backed by aggressive marketing and ads. Some big names in the field of entertainment were also sponsored by OPPO which helps to structure the brand.

 

Some physical stores were been opened in Indonesia and Singapore to create awareness about the brand but they didn’t help increase in sells much. OPPO is a part of the company known as BBK who is also the prime investor in the now famous OnePlus Company.
