Facebook Inc has launched its news app Notify on Wednesday. The app is launched for the iPhone users in the United States. Notify carry content from their media partners like Fox News, Washington Post and CBS.
Notify grant the users permission to share notifications with friends through text, email or facebook directly from the lock screen. It also contains a great collection stations across a variety of categories like sports, movies, celebrities, music, and breaking news.
Notify is involved in tight competition with Moments, launched by Twitter Inc.
The prime objective of Moments is to contribute better methods to assist the users in aggregating news and also to help the users to follow live events.
“If a notification catches your eye when you’re busy or distracted, just swipe to add it to your Saved Notifications list. You can discover all the notifications you’ve received from Notify in the last 24 hours via a convenient in-app feed so you can easily stay up to date,” said Julian Gutman, Product Manager, Facebook in a statement.
Notify launches with a great list of sources powering multiple stations to meet a wide variety of interests, and we plan to add more sources in the near future, added Julian.
