Comcast Corp. (CMSCA) owned movie ticketing website Fandango has teamed up with the social media giant Facebook. This partnership will lead to a ticket booking system on the Facebook website. A part of the Facebook’s users will be able to book tickets for movies from the company’s site. This service is about bringing a group of people to the movie theater said Paul Yanover, President of Fandango.
The partnership will comprise several feed store to organize into a single platform the group outing with friends. From the iOS 10 operating system’s text messaging screen users can book Fandango movie tickets. Promoting group buying of tickets is the main target of Fandango mentioned a report. In this respect, many studios are associating and experimenting with technology platforms. For an instance, Snapchat was been chosen as a partner for the 21 Century Fox Studio enabling its users to book tickets on its platform this summer. Rotten Tomatoes, the movie review site, and Flixster the online community site for movies were been acquired by the Fandango as the company is investing heavily in this respect.
Times Warner Co. a unit of Warner Bros. Entertainment had them earlier. Movieclips, an organization that license movie clips from major studios and post them on YouTube has also been acquired by Fandango in the year 2014.
